Still learning the system? Isn't the idea to score goals and keep the other team from scoring goals? Seems pretty simple to me.

Cheiron lets hope this system is easier to learn then Richards system! Scholars from Oxford University are still trying to figure out, what Richards concept was. What did Herbie say? something about a monkey and football.

October's 10 games should give us a sense of this teams chance of making the playoffs. If they can get 12 points it will mean that the defense and goaltending, the areas that most concern me,are keeping us in games. Good to have Harding back,in case Backs stumbles and I'd still like to see another experienced D aquired.

If you don't play this game with a whole lot of heart and a big bag of knuckles in front of the net you don't got dinky doo. -NHL great; Donnie Schulzhoffer (Flin-Flon, Manitoba)

Bobby Clarke also a Flin Flon native got critized in the "Super Series" (this was held 2yrs after the Summit Series)for slashing and breaking the ankle of a Russian Dman in front of the net. Clarke said, "he was just showing people he was doing whatever it took to win the game". Not saying the Wild need to be savages! They just need to be tuff in front of both nets.

Haha -- "players still learning" is an oxymora when referring to hockey.

Bobby Clarke broke Karlamov's ankle as I remember it who was the Greztky of Russia at the time. Many people think it cost the Russians the series. Too bad he did that as now we will never know. Many think that was actually an act of cowadice. Nobody had to break anyones ankle to win the gold in 1980, they earned it. There is a 180 degree difference between being a "cheat to win" person and an honest tough guy. The difference is "integrity" which is job 1 for a professional. Yeo's system is a proven playoff system as it works all the way into May and June when the ice gets soft. This is the time of the year for the last few rounds of the Stanley CuP playoffs. I watched the Houston guys overachieve with it last year and the Penguins won a cup with it. It is a fairly simple system and just takes some dicipline which is another component of championship teams. Go Wild !!!

Northsports it was Karlamov that suffered the injury from Clarke. Canadian Hockey at the time thought nobody could beat them. The Canadians were so arrognant and brushed off the repeated trips that Anatoli Tarasov was making to Canada to watch them practice. Little did the Canadians know Tarasov was building a hockey machine that the world had never seen. The Russians were in so much better condition, than their opponents. Ken Dryden is famous for leaning on his goal stick in bordem, I can't imagine how bored Tretiak had to be at times.

Talented players make just about any system look good. Heatly, Setagoochi and Koivu are a huge upgrade from last years first line. Richards might have looked good if he didn't have Miettinen as his top wing.
