The Gophers QB has toe and foot injuries. He'll be watched closely today in practice.

Move the talented athlete, Gray, back to wide-out where he has a chance to play after college. Shortell is the best QB option, he just needs a few more game reps.

As a season ticket holder, I'd love to see a Gopher offensive line that could protect the quarterback. A defensive line that could make just a few tackles and obtain an occasional quarterback "sack" would also be welcomed. Ain't been happening this year however.

The Shortell era needs to start now. Gray makes me long for the passing prowess of Abdul-Kahliq. That int against prevent coverage D in the NDS game was brutal. There no sense developing Gray when he only has 16-18 games left in his career. Defenses respect Shortells passing. Even though they didn't pass once when he took over against NDSU their secondary couldn't crowd the box allowing the Gophers to run effectively that whole drive. Put Gray back at WR and have two of your best places at their best positions.

There seems to be an abundance of talent (term used loosely) on the offensive side; especially at QB coming up. Shortell is a freshman and Jerry is bringing in 2 promising in state QB's that are going to want to play. I think they need to dedicate their priorities (a lot of them!) to O line, D line and secondary. We can't win ball games if we can't run or stop anyone from scoring. Put Gray at WR where he belongs

Gray is not a QB at the D-1 level and never was one as Brewster quickly realized after recruiting hum. Let him recover so that he can play a few strong games at wide receiver before the season ends and let Shortrell get some experience to build towards next year. The Gophers are simply an awful team that cannot stop anyone on defense and justifiably so until all of those "highly recruited talented" players that Brewster brought in have moved on.

@dwhoyt - I think our d-line would do much better if on 3rd down situations Jacobs, Kirksey, and Wilhite would concentrate more on getting ready for the play instead of waving to the crowd to fire them up and jumping to the music. Speaking of which, none of the combinations of 80's rock band songs they have tried over the pa system before big plays has resulted in a successful 3rd down stop either. Maybe people should start doing the "key" play on 3rd downs instead of kickoffs.

If Gray is getting hurt against the small linemen of NDSU. He isn't going to make it through NE,WI,OH ST.

Two vaguely relevant comments. 1) It pains me to say so--IT65--but if I were in Ann Arbor this weekend with nothing to do, the football game would not be an option. 2) It's going to take some hard evidence before I ever again believe that an out-of-state recruit to Minnesota is a positive for the Gopher program. Especially when the best Minnesota players are going elsewhere.
