I had a chance to attend the meeting. The veteran who spoke and said that he can't believe that he has to show up to defend his right to vote made a strong statement. And, the guy who said that he can't afford to go to a Vikings game, and doesn't want to pay taxes for a new stadium he won't be able to afford to attend had a solid point too. The people who were there testifying in favor of denying Ramsey County residents their right to vote on being taxed to fun Zygi Wilf's private business were, overwhelmingly, from outside Ramsey County and wearing purple.

We elected them to make the tough choices. Let them decide.

You pay, Wilfy. While I love the Vikes, I also ove Whoppers. Which does NOT mean I want to have the county chip in for the next Burger King!!!

If you want to tax, get the voters to agree. It's called Democracy.

So now it's bye bye Vikings? What a bunch of short-sighted people. (North Stars & Lakers all over again)I don't like subsidising sports teams, but guess what? If we don't, someone else will. Why don't we ask the outstate folks and the Dakotas & Iowa to help out? Oh yeah, I'm from there, I'd help, but nobody asked.

I helped pay for Target Field, and you know what? It didn't make much of a dent at all in my budget and I was happy to help provide for construction jobs. When you think of this building as an opportunity to create jobs and help the local economy, it's a no brainer. From the picture, it looks like a bunch of senior citizens who couldn't care less about young people getting jobs and their property values increasing.

Edkohler, I'm glad you took the time to verify that most supporters were from outside of Ramsey County with a thorough ID and DNA check. The stadium will be built and the $71 we'll all pay will not be missed by any of us. Go away and find some other non-issue to get worked up about now.

Bottom line is that state needs a better deal than what it is now. Minnesotans do not want to see them leave. Figure it out. But in today's economy, if it goes to a vote, now way would it be a positive outcome.

When they leave you people will be sorry and have no one to blame but those 6th district tea party folks. As a Saint and raider fan, I feel bless to see both come here this year and look like iwill be taking trips to Los Angeles now when they face the Vikings in the future!!!

Mr. Lyons didn't "refute" the argument; he "rebutted" it. There's a big difference.
