It sounds like the door is opening for Pounder if the coach says mechanics and the player says no.

Hey Donovan. When you are satisfied as an individual. We're finished as a team. Bench him and put in ponder

"Since the Vikings are 0-3, some fans have been clamoring for rookie Christian Ponder to replace McNabb." Not to mention the sports writers that have been clamoring for Ponder as well!

Towards the end of McNabb's tenure in WASH this offseason, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said something to effect that McNabb must learn to account for the "little things" in being an NFL quarterback, and it seems that is true on some level. Couple less than ideal mechanics, inconsistent pass blocking and WR who struggle in getting open deep, what you have here is recipe for a bland passing game!

McNabb has always been a mid-range passer...he likes to make throws 20yds or more. The Redskins failed to understand this and the Vikings are flubbing it too. Dink and dunk stinks, and thats the way the Vikings played last yr under Favre and now under McNabb. It wold help if he had a receiver to throw to also.

Cut him right now. this is the same crap he pulled in Washington and I imagine in Philly. He really doesn't believe he is the problem and refuses to change. Frazier made a seriously bad move (among many) to bring this guy in. Bringing in your buddies doesn't work. He said the Vikes needed to draft a QB # 1, they did and then he won't throw him in there like teams did with Newton, Ryan, Flacco, Sanchez etc. The lockout I'm sure ruined a plan like this and he felt a vet was needed but in my mind the vet needed was only someone willing to mentor Ponder.

It is clear that McNabb is now phoning it in. He is set in his ways and is content to simply pick up his paycheck. If after his abysmal stats he is not seeing any need to change to improve his accuracy, that is a cancer on the team that does not get better with time. One that will only grow. I am not sold on starting Ponder, I might even consider starting Webb before Ponder because the one thing Webb does is score almost every time he has been in there for any length of time. Or even look around for another veteran. McNabb is toast, Frazier's version of the Moss trade.

There's no door opening for ponder. We may be bailing water, but this isn't an abandon ship moment... as a realist, I must add... yet, anyway. I think the real problem is the line play. When's the last time McNabb was given more than 2 seconds to make a throw?

Kick a$$ offensive II.

Most of you guys are so caught up in losing, you're not looking at the the specifics in the games. You're so use to pointing fingers, like blaming coaches for outright player mistakes, that you're failing to see the basic problems of this team. Where's the praise for the first half play to go with your criticism of the outcome? Stop. Think a minute. There, you see?
