Good for the Wild and great for young Aaron. I wish him all the best of luck in moving forward with his life and career.

I believe in giving Aaron a chance as much as the next guy. My only question, is this. Is it fair to the rest of guys on the Houston Aeros team, to have to deal with distraction? I'm just asking. I have know real answer to this dilema.

I don't understand this at all. As shrewd and savvy as Chuck Fletcher's been, I don't understand this at all. Makes not one iota of sense. With the rule changes, that least thing we need is another thug, and he certainly isn't good enough to make it on his skating and skills. I don't get it.

I might be missing something, but I think you're reading too much into. There's very little risk. Fletch will tell you the obligatory "he's a hockey player and he adds to our organization." There may also be an element of good will. No harm in that.

"Aeros GM Jim Mill, who doubles as the Wild's assistant to the GM, said the Wild's trying to be compassionate to a beloved former player's brother. 'We want to give Aaron an opportunity to continue his hockey career," Mill said. "We're trying to help him out.'" Great. Let's sign a player not because of his hockey ability, but because we feel sorry for him . . . makes perfect sense.

You all are very lucky that you can sit behind your computer and make these shrewd remarks about Aaron. I would love to see you tell this to his face. You all clearly don't have an understanding of his life or his hockey career. He is perfectly capable of making the team and is there on a tryout like any other player. It's very sad that your lives are so easy that you cannot relate to his or his brother's struggles. Let the poor kid move on with his life, grieve, and be done with losers like you.

I see nothing wrong with this at all. He's there on a tryout, so if it doesnt work then there's no harm done. It may be a move simply to give a guy a second chance and show some compassion to the brother of the most loved player the Wild have ever had. But what's wrong with that?

Aaron, best of luck to you, whichever club you end up with. I'll be pulling for you all of the way. Hockey careers can be short, so I hope you'll practice and play with all you have got and do it for the memory of your brother... I think I speak for all true fans when I say we are behind you all of the way Aaron, chin up, stick down!!!!

I'm glad to see the Wild give Aaron a chance. In the end he will have to prove himself by his performance like any other player. But it does say good things about the Wild and if things work out with Aaron at the Aeros, so much the better.
