There were many for Chuck Knoblauch: Rookie of the Year, World Series rings. But he has turned a definitive, nostalgia-free page into a reclusive retirement.

If you are happy with your own performance in life, the cheers or boos don't matter. That said, Knoblauch seems like a pretty one-dimensional guy who says he doesn't need it anyway. He had a lot of baseball talent and it vaporized. Hope it doesn't happen to him again with non-baseball life. He's got a lot of innings left to play.

Best Chucker interview! Wish Knobby all the best, thought he would get over his issue. Besides that 14 year old he shoved is like 30 now!

Don't feel bad for him even a little. For someone so self-centered I'm glad his baseball career ended the way it did. It seems he is just trying leave behind his past baseball life, which is fine because he left behind Twins, and all of Minnesota when he left.

Loved him as a Twin and hated him as a Yankee but then I hate all Yankees. Kind of like Jeter though. Can't figure out why they boo him here. He's always played the game the right way and doesn't do anything to embarrass himself.

He could have been a fan favorite because of the way he played, but he just isn't a nice person and this article doesn't change that opinion. He's a known cheater who excuses it by saying "it didn't help me". I'm sure he knows why he all of a sudden he couldn't throw to first anymore......and yes, you would have gotten booed - loudly (even though the Twins don't win the world series in 91 without him).

Interesting article. I wish the best for Knoblauch. If he has any issues, I hope he overcomes them. I hope some day in the future he will come back to Minnesota for a visit and the fans will let bygones be bygones.

Can't blame the guy for wanting to get traded. The Twins sucked then. Management was cheap. Team was threatening to move every year. The Twins of the late 1990's were a complete embarrassment to baseball and you had only the owners to thank for that at the time. Any competitive player with real fire and a bit of talent would have wanted out the way things were being run at that time.
