There's hope for Simmons yet. I mean, this was written by a professional? Good grief even Kahn's writing comes off as amateurish. Remind me how long after this was written that the Blazers were in the NBA Finals? Oh yeah... two of the next three years.

acoustic470... exactly. They made the finals using computerized scouting reports. They missed on Michael Jordan 5 years earlier using the "old" way of scouting. Kahn is a tool!

Actually this is way better than a Souhan column. Kahn names names, assigns blame and offers reasoned analysis. Sure, it's soaked in irony now, and his view of advanced statistics (then and now) needs updating, but the writing is pretty good. And thanks to Michael for running it--your findings seem to knock holes in the Yahoo piece, as it's hard to imagine much bitterness on Adelman's part when Kahn didn't really rip him.

Ndudi Ebi with the shot.. dsh..swish. Makes it! Back to the floor in a pick and roll. Passes left..Telfair with the drive! forward to the basket. Layup missed, rebounded by the big man and *CLANK* with the ally oop and the slam! Randy Foye brings it home and the Wolves lead.
