Parmelee a bright spot in Twins' latest loss

  • Article by: LA VELLE E. NEAL III , Star Tribune
  • Updated: September 18, 2011 - 8:50 AM

The September call-up hit his first major league home run, but it wasn't enough to keep the Twins from another seven-game losing streak.

Why is the Strib no longer merging the comments from the AP story to the gamestory written by Joe or Lavelle anymore?

"They get after the game, they work hard and they are not backing down," Gardenhire said. What does that even mean!? He really ought to be a political speech writer, shouldn't he?

Gardenhire must be tired of everything, including talking to the press.

Let's hope Parmelee and Benson can become solid starters for the Twins.

I guess it wasn't so bad when you could buy a bleacher seat at the dome for six bucks or so to see the Twinkies, but now at Target Field prices are MUCH higher (on EVERYTHING) and when a person has paid good, hard earned money they have every right to expect to see a major league baseball game ... NOT A BUNCH OF AAA and AA WANABEES!!!

I think Liam will be a good starter for the Twins at some point as well. He's just not ready quite yet, next year he should be in AAA to work on some things and hopefully put 2 & 2 together

With the 2nd pick in the MLB Draft, the Minnesota Twins select??? The Twins will have the 2nd overall pick next year and by improving the farm system and drafting well is the only way we are going to improve this mess. Billy Smith is the man in charge and he has done a pretty poor job over the last few years. I mean look at his track record, he takes over, they build a new ballpark, purse strings open up, and they get hit with injuries, which then shows his lack of depth in the Minors. What a mess this organization has become. I would give him one more season and make sure he knows this is it.
