The Gophers made a very strong case last weekend for the worst program in the NCAA. Kill will be fired in a few years and we can hear the whole routine again.

I would only ask Patrick to keep in mind something he should already know. Any Gopher fan who opposed the firing of Coach Mason as a move likely to cause the program fall back to the bottom of the Big Ten was banned from posting on any Gopher fan site by these young Gopher deep thinkers. They are the generation who absolutely can not stand anyone disagreeing with their deep wisdom. So please Patrick and others, keep in mind that there were people who saw what Maturi and his hand picked side kick Tim Brewster were up to. Pity us because we are real Gopher fans who never bought the Maturi spin or the Brewster Flim Flam routine and yet have had to sit through every game of the results. May Coach Kill someday get us back to being a respectable Big Ten team someday, worthy of the fine stadium we now have thanks to Coach Mason and our many fans.

Mr. Reusse, the nausea of losing is still fresh in my mind, and now your column only reminds me even more of the futility of all "my" teams this p sat year. Thanks for so aptly portraying all of "us" circus fans.

Insecurity is manifested by a deep seated need to quantify and categorize, whether the subject matter is homogeneous or heterogeneous... MN sports fans are not about winning or losing: just like all sports fans, they are about hope to be part of a success; sharing with the herd; and about reliving their playground time. Normal human stuff.

I agree about Gopher Hoops and Williams Arena. It's just not the same as the 70s-90s and Tubby has been a bust.
