Jessica Granquist is the defensive specialist for the Gophers volleyball team. Equally impressive is her sister, Christina, who has battled blindness with seven cornea transplants and countless other surgeries.

Good story Pat. As a big fan of the Gopher Girls V-Ball team, it is nice to see a story on one of the players and their family. I couldn't imagine what Christina has gone through with all the surgeries. Best of luck, but what she has shown already tells me that she won't need luck. She seems like quite a fighter.

Watching Jess on the court is exciting and a pleasure. Understanding her commitment and love for her sister is even more impressive. As with most athletes we watch, we sometimes forget they have lives outside of their sport.

Hit post before I was ready. Christina's ability to maintain such a positive attitude throughout what she has endured is something we can all learn from. I hope things go much more smoothly for her in the future!

A story like this makes you realize, that no matter how bad things seem to be. Somebody else has it just a little tougher. I've worn glasses since I was 5 and hate them. Now I seem to love them. Great story very inspirational!

BTN had a couple of matches on last year. I watched because it was the Gophers. Found out that the sport was pretty cool. Too bad the BTN doesn't put more of these matches on rather then the repeats of other 'stuff'. Great story. Maybe it will enlighten others that the people around them are important too. The best to them:)
