Grab a sweater. And the hose. With cooler weather rolling in, it's starting to feel like fall, which means it's time to get your yard ready for you-know-what.

note on the tomatoes: If you have room in the garage, porch or basement you could try yanking the plant and hanging it upside down until those greens ripen. Otherwise, yeah I'm with J.G., it's not worth the fussing & waiting.

If it does not frost tonight, we may have a chance at a couple more weeks. It's been dry - rain tends to delay frost (and is needed after a few dry weeks). This year seemed to have got started late and looks like it's ending early... At least a good frost knocks down mosquitoes. Time to spray some non-stick (Pam) on the snowblower chute and get out the snow gear. Minnesotans jog in snowsuits when it gets to 30 in the fall - then jog in shorts when it gets to 30 in the spring...That's what a bit of sub-zero can do.
