Thanks for sharing this story. On Friday 9/14/01 I was supervising a high school football game. It was a cloudy night and pretty poorly attended. As the teams lined up for the national anthem the stadium was totally silent. Seconds before the band played a plane flew just to the east of the stadium. It was the first plane anyone had seen since all flights had been grounded. As the plane continued to Wold Chamberlain Field, many in the crowd were overcome with tears and emotion, not just because of the national anthem, but because of the appearance of the plane. I can still see that plane flying. It was a week I will never forget.

Dear Pohlads: Can you please sign Cuddeyer to an extension. How many more reasons do you need to sign this phenominal player and a first class person?

@tradecuddyer - I understand you not liking him as a player. I think we should've traded him, too. But that means NOTHING to this story. How in the world can you look at this story and not be moved? It's one of many, many stories we need to look upon and reflect on during the 10th anniversary of that horrific day.

@bluedevil101 - First, is your screen name for Hibbing or Duke (just curious)? Second, that was a great story you had. Friday on 9/14 I was at a HS football game in El Paso, TX. Lots of players had parents in the Army at nearby Ft Bliss. During player introductions, we saw planes fly overhead to the Army airfield not even a mile from the stadium. Everyone stopped to look, refs and the announcer included. For a moment it was silent, then a loud cheer from everywhere, then a chant of "U-S-A, U-S-A" rose. There was not a dry eye in the place. Thank you for your story.

In thenten years since "9/11", our country has become a worse place in just about every way.

@Steavis: And what did all that hollow patriotism get us?

@ccshons - "@Steavis: And what did all that hollow patriotism get us"........An easier way to identify people who don't won't work to better the country, regardless of religious belief (or lack thereof, which is cool by me) or political leanings. You have a computer, a place to state your opinion. Do you have any idea how many in the world who would die to have that opportunity? With your rant, I guess not.

This is a great story and I love the way they put a spin on it, but is doesn't say they were walk off homers. I suppose some relief pitchers and fielders helped save his life also, but it's still a great story.
