2007 GMC Yukon You have two ball joints on each side. The lower is the load carrying and the upper is only an idler. You must unload the suspension to check for end play on the load carrying ball joint and note that is only 8 one hundredths of an inch. There are 25.4 mm in 1 inch. If you can move the ball joint by hand and feel it, it usually means it is worn. For your own piece of mind have the dealer measure and record on the repair order the specification and the measurement on the effected part. With the aid of a long pry bar, I can make most ball joints appear to need replacement. ............. 2002 Windstar Paul is correct that only three things can cause the red brake warning light to illuminate. However any and all the wiring associated with these circuits can also illuminate the light, which is controlled by the the FEM front electronic module As for the amber ABS light, have the dealer run the tests for the ABS module and record the codes received. Look for shorts which could also activate the warning indicator. The best procedure is to follow the troubleshooting tree in the Shop Manual which will direct you to each step to diagnose the concern. The selections will be red light on, amber light on, both lights on. This chart is available only in the shop manual, Alldata does not provide this type of information and make sure you use the manual for the correct model year. This is the only way to diagnose a difficult concern........................2009 Ford Escape Ford has a perforation warranty beyond 3-36 but it is for perforation, not surface rust. This is part of the warranty policy manual and Alldata has no information on warranty and policy. Check with your local dealer, and they will run an oasis with symptom codes, and give you a copy of the results. This can be done by any Ford dealer, and this will also inform you of any and all recalls for your particular vehicle. This system is VIN driven and gives results for your specific vehicle, not generic like alldata or the other after market suppliers.
