I wonder what piece of garbage Bill Smith gets in this trade? This guy has had the worst year a gm could ever have...

This is what's wrong with pro sports. Twins have fu-barred this one beyond belief. If we're going to lose...let's at least keep a guy who's well respected...is a hall of famer....and sells tix. But nooooooooooo.

Every member of the Twins organization right down to each of the players should be embarrassed that their season turned into a race to the DL and that trading Thome at this point of the season was the only honorable thing to do.

I'd rather we were in a position to keep him (in contention). But, since we're not this way we pick up something (vs. nothing if he turned down all offers). Classy that he'd rather go back to Cleveland for a chance to play in rather than cheese his way into the playoffs via Philly. Seems like the best outcome for the Twins, Cleveland, and Jim...

Another guy that should've been gone by mid july. A season and 3/4's of all that thome class really rubbed off on this group of overpaid pansy weasels.

My daughter and I were lucky enough to see him tie and then pass Harmon Killebrew's home run record by hitting two homers in one game at Target Field. We are going to miss you, Jim. When we have the game on the TV and you come to bat, someone says, come here, Thome's batting. Everyone wants to watch you play. They just like you. Go for the gold wherever you are. You will always be loved here in Minnesota.
