Bielema lost his defensive coordinator, Dave Doeren, to Northern Illinois as Jerry Kill's successor. But he kept the assistant who matters most, Paul Chryst. Chryst not only had a big impact on Russell Wilson transferring to UW, but he landed a four-star QB from California named Bart Houston for next year and beyond. Getting top-flight, playmaking QBs ought to make Running Back U a pretty solid BCS contender.

Patrick, I thought Fulda was a MN town, not a WI location. Do you really need to write 2 articles on the zealots to the east? Are changing your allegiance to the arrogant Bielema Bum or maybe you fawn all over him because he hated Brewster!

As a Badger fan living in Minneapolis, it is pretty fun to think back to all the big talk by the Gopher fans a few years ago about the "opposite direction" the programs were going in. I guess they were right in one sense. On Wisconsin.

It's even funnier to hear a fairweather fan like yourself talk big about a football program that's never sniffed a national championship in over 120 years. Better break out the Windex your empty trophy case in Madison is dusty again. Go Gophers.

Oh and how many rose bowls have the gophers won or even been to in the last 50 years??? That's what I thought, our three rose bowl victories and last years big ten title trophy take up a lot more room than anything in Gopher land.

Funy how pathetic and whiny MN fans like vikings1 are. Badger football = defending big10 champ and national title contender this year. Packers = defending champs, and best team in NFL this year Brewers = hottest team in all of baseball Gophers = most pathetic Division 1 athletic program in teh country, not just football, but across the board. Vikings = have fun finishing dead last in the north this year Twins = do I even need to say anything?? LOL!!!!!!!!!

LOL!!!!!!!!! ---------------- Where we you in the 1980's when NO ONE went to Badgers games and the Packer scouldn't sell out and had have their Milwaukee games? Wisconsin fans are the definition of bandwagon. The Gophers and Vikings have not been successful yet I suppoert both and will win or lose. The other funny thing is how many Wisconsin transplants live here. Almost as bad as Iowa. Guess I can't blame you for "getting out".

twb - you sound like a Vikings fan bragging about division championships...tell us how many Nat'l Chmapionships has Bucky won in football? Kind of pathetic that Bucky has never sniffed a title. One of the only teams in the Big Ten to never come close to winning a championship. Better keep dusting cuz that ant'l championship trophy case is going to be empty for a loooong time, LOL!

Its fine to celebrate, nostalgically, the Gophers' ancient prowess on the gridiron, but it is simply irrelevant to today, You see, its not simply that the Championships are more than half a century old, its that your program has done absolutely nothing of note since then.
