Vikings All-Pro defensive tackle Kevin Williams will miss the rest of the preseason, but is expected to be healthy enough to play in the regular-season opener in San Diego on Sept. 11.

I'll put this up again....PFT, is reporting the NFL is considering reducing the Star Cap suspension to 2 games, the same as they will dish out for HGH use. That suspension will not include the first game according to the report. If we can have him healthy for game 1 and then rest him for two, he should be good for the season. Go Vikes!

Kevin Williams better days are long behind him. If you look he was very explosive early in his career, used to be able to play the run and pass equally well, now he is basically a run stopper, rarely is he going to get an pressure on a QB anymore.

Unless it's torn, plantar fasciitis is easily treated. Tell Kevin to sleep with a shoe on for a few nights to keep his foot from curling up. That's why it feels like you're stepping on glass in the morning as the muscle straightens out. Then, and this is the hard part for most people, he has to wear a tightly tied shoe all day long...preferably a high top shoe for stability. Doctors want you to buy splints and lifts and cushion. Don't need that. Just good only country medicine.

"Leslie, Ron Gardenhire on line 1. He wants to know what the &$@% you are doing. He believes Williams should be put on injured reserve and deemed out for this season."

The last Williams to have that plantar deal? Michael Williams T wolves.....turned out bad. Turned out bad for Wally too. Kevin better makes sure he takes care of this the right way or he'll ruin more than just some stupid preseason games

No doubt this is going to be a long season...as in a sub .500 season. All fans better reset their expectations that the Vikings will not win their division nor will they make the playoffs. Too many huge holes, and with Robison now being a starter (WHAT???) and Kevin Williams potentially being out for a while, our defensive line, with the often disappearing Jared Allen, is going to get exposed. Man, I really hope I am wrong. Maybe in the Dallas preseason game we will see some of these players step up.

I thought Williams was suspended for the first 4 games. Can someone correct me on his status and the suspension.

While Kevin Williams is a top tier defensive tackle when healthy, fortunatley we have solid depth on the d-line with Remi Ayodele, Letroy Guion and the rookie Christian Ballard. Look no further than the goal line stance against Seattle, four straight attempts stuffed by the Vikings second unit. Regarding Robison, he has a golden opportunity to prove he needs to be a starter. If he fails, look for Everson Griffen to push him. Adrian Awasom looked solid on Saturday vs. Seahawks as well. Injuries and making adjustments are part of the game.
