I am so looking forward to watching the Wild play this season. GM Fletcher has made some very good additions during the off season, adding speed, scoring and another grinder. He is building for today and for tomorrow. Just wait until Granlund and their other young talent join the team next season. Fletcher is starting to follow the BlackHawk's formula of building through the draft with solid talent and adding a few key veterans who can put the puck in the net. Goooooooooo Wild!

Smoked salmon finger sandwiches, steak, and beer? Sounds delicious, but don't let Latendresse find out.

Maybe--just maybe--Fletch got this one right. Classy move on his and Yeo's part, but Mikko cannot disappoint like last year.

The Mike Yeo hire was another head-scratcher (ala Jerry Kill), but I think Mother Maturi & Fletcher got both hires right. I love the future of the Wild. They had some great off-season moves, have a bunch of good young stars, it should be fun with Yeo behind the bench.

The future looks bright for the Wild! Give the guy (Yeo) a couple of years with his team and the youngsters coming up along with possible trades and more draft picks. Fantastic!! Good luck Wild!

Let's just hope the Wild's new strength/conditioning coach works out. Each of the last two seasons, by the time February rolls around the Wild look like a hybrid AHL/Bantam A team out there due to injury call-ups.

What's Yeo's hockey name? What would Jacques Lemaire call him?

I agree with the moves Fletch has made to improve this team...even with the hiring of Yeo. I just worry about our lack of defense and how Backstrom is going to react after consecutive nights of 5+ goals allowed. Although, at least now we have a chance to win some of those games. Finally looking forward to a pro season in Minny!!

Everything the Wild has done since Fletcher was hired has been done with CLASS. Was Coach Richards a good hire? No, but Fletcher admitts that it wasn't also. Was the Cam Barker trade a good move? No, but he stands up and admitts that also. DR made bad moves all the time and never took the blame. Instead DR put blame on others. DR could never admitt that letting Bruno go to the AV's was a mistake. He pushed Gaborik and his agent farther away from the team each year and tried to make it look like it was not his fault. Do I think Yeo is the next Scotty Bowman? No, but everything I've seen so far about him says nothing but CLASS! Fletcher keep pushing the right buttons this franchise is finally headed in the right direction.

I still say that it is much better for a team to have a captain from North America. I dont think the Wild have many options other than Mikko so he will have to do for now. Now that the Wild actually has some talent it will be interesting to see if Mikko can handle the responsibility. Because, quite frankly, I was not impressed with the way he handled the Mittens situation. He was clearly selfish and was not acting in the best interest of the team.
