Omg vaccinate your children people. The probability of death due to vaccination is much much less than the probability of death due to not vaccinating. Or would you prefer to gamble with your children's lives? And no, vaccinations do not cause autism.

how very sad for this baby. We absolutely must ban travel to and from these backward third world countries without proper immunization documentation for those involved.

From the CDC: The measles virus is spread through the air, through coughing and sneezing, and is so contagious that any child exposed to it who doesn't already have immunity will probably get it. From there, 1 of 10 get ear infections and risk hearing loss, up to 1 in 20 get pneumonia, 1 in 1,000 gets encephalitis and one or two out of 1,000 die. Pregnant women who are exposed are subject to stillbirth or delivering prematurely. For the Jenny McCarthy fans out there -- these are ACTUAL risks.

Children of that age aren't even due for their MMR vaccination yet.

Immunize your kids! We don't want to be a third world country, too! There's no excuse for this.

Do those of you saying these babies needed to be vaccinated know the age to receive the first shot? It's between 12 and 18 months. We do NOT know how long they were in Kenya, so the initial child was NOT old enough to be given any vaccine for MMR. The second child just reached the common age for the shot. Get off your high horse people... Furthermore, look up the DNA ingredient in these shots, you will be shocked. If I post what it is, my comment won't be allowed, you do your own search. AND, there are some children that have an illness in their gut that leads them to be vulnerable to autism after receiving their vaccines. Two simple tests would determine which children are at risk, but a parent must ask for the tests and insurance may not pay for them. Once the child's gut is up to par, it is usually safe for them to receive a vaccine but they need to be tested each time or risk autism.

Immunize your children!!! There is no excuse for this at all. Optional immunizing should be completely banned. I am in healthcare and I will tell you- the benefits WAY outnumber the risks to all from parents making the choice to not immunize. This is extremely sad for this family and heartbreaking, but a very unecessary way for an infant to die. This could have been prevented. ESPECIALLY when taking a small child to another country. I am just in disbelief that this is acceptable.

AUTISM IS NOT CAUSED BY VACCINES, some of you need to really research what you "hear" about. The researcher who claimed this was true recanted his story and admitted he lied and fabricated his study results. The world continues to be in a stuper about vaccinations and autism. There is NO link. And I personally.. even if it WERE a risk (which it isnt) would prefer to have an autistic child.. which I do- rather than a DEAD CHILD. Get you priorities straight.
