Chris Hawthorne likes and respects his new head coach, but at least during fall camp, he's learned Kill is full of surprises.

"Shortell and the starting quarterback, MarQueis Gray, had a difficult practice Thursday, completing only a handful of passes. But that was by design, Kill said." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Keep those excuses coming Jerry Christ, you are my personal gawwwwwwwwd n savior!!

well, goldteamtool or pantherhawk or jailer or brewsterhaha or whatever you want to call yourself these days, last year Jerry Kill took an unranked MAC team and turned them into a ranked team whereas Ferentz took a top ten team and turned them into an unranked team in that same time period.

Story in Des Moines Register: Iowa football recruit Michael Malloy, who attends Sioux City Heelan, is in trouble with the law. This reprobate won't be bringing Floyd home any time soon. LOL.

goldteamtool - does the Criminal Justice program at the University of Iowa use Hawkeye players as case studies? If so, I bet they only scratch the surface of the amount of athletes in legal trouble.

raineyroo - I love the Gophers and have high hopes for the Coach Kill teams but I really don't think Gopher fans can make comments about any program and athletes getting in trouble with the law as we certainly have had our share. People who live in glass houses......

Goldtool, at least try to show some wit, oh, I forgot, in the battle of wits you are unarmed.

Wow I'm glad our coaching staff is spending so much time and focus playing mind games with the kicker. I guess the other option would be to get our offense or defence ready, but that makes too much sense. Here's a tip Coach your cute little vulcan mind tricks on the punter since he will probably be spending a lot more time on the field than our kicker. It's embarrassing to be a Gopher alum these days. sigh.....

Maybe you big mouths should check out the convicted counterfeiter coach wonderful has comitted for 2012.........

Pretty obvious the football team is going to be a force in the next year or so - the out-state-rival commenters are coming out in force.... "A warrior's greatness is measured by worth of his enemies."... If the gophers were not seen as a threat, the rivals wouldn't be on the boards posting smack 24/7 - that's a new thing for the gophers, for sure.

givinguphope - You apparently haven't been following very closely. The offense and defense (note the spelling here in the US) have been working extremely hard to be prepared. By the way, this type of preparation is what Coach Mason was missing. The loss to Wisconsin on a flubbed punt, where the punter wasn't told to just take a safety if he couldn't get the kick away, is an example of preparing for game situations. I have a lot more confidence that Coach Kill will have these guys ready in all facets of the game.
