Refreshing to say the least. The U hasn't understood winning for 50 years The head coach has to demand performance from all before the U has any chance of restoring the attitude. Coach Kill will inject a drive to perform that has been lacking for too long.

I will be 50 years old at the end of this year, and the Gophers have made no Rose Bowl trips in my life time. I don't think it will happen this year, but I do think we have a better future ahead. All it takes is a little better every year. From what I can tell, most great athletes are "Type A" personalities. They respond to the whip rather than shrinking from it. Brewster was a recruiter, and that certainly has its place, but Kill is a coach.

Daltrowitz: Last Rose Bowl: 1962. You do the math. Liking Jerry Kill. Hope it translates into a better Gopher team.

I wonder where Floyd is Packing his bags for his much awaited trip back home. Poor guy...he is the one who really suffered as a result of the goofers little fluke win in 2010. Pile up those injuries...Floyd loves seeing those happen to those who have touched him inappropriately since last November!

forhawkeyes... Huh? Can you not make up your mind what team you are a fan of? Are you a fan of Grinnell College too? How about my alma mater, Drake? They both have as much of a chance of making the Rose Bowl as Iowa State does.

I as a writer claimed above Brewster was a recruiter but Kill is a coach, then we should expect good things this year and the next from the current players who were recruiter by the former coach. On the other hand, I don't remember the smart guys ever ranking any of Brewster's recruiting classes as being exceptional in anyway. So, I am guessing that the Brewster recruits still around are all rather average ball players that will result in mediocre team success on the field.
