Legendary for his intensity -- and those eyes -- as a linebacker, Mike Singletary keeps his competitive juices flowing as a Vikings assistant coach.

Not really sure about his coaching abilities, but as a player who had that much intensity and gave his all on every play is rare in todays game. Kick the tires and light the fires Mike!

Gotta love Mike - He might not have been the best head coach, but I believe he'll be a great LB coach. Looking forward to seeing on the field intensity from this group.

I remember how excited I got when I heard Frazier was offering the LB's coach job to Singletary... what better person to team up with you during a rebuilding stage, especially when you already have decent players to work with. Check out how fiery little brother Henderson was last Saturday, looks like Singletary is already having a good affect.

I'm sure he'll get the team fired up with one of his pants-dropping halftime speeches!!

As a 49er fan going on nearly 30 years I am happy he landed somewhere. He was NOT a good head coach but the ownership was awful in all fairness. Everyone will agree he was an AMAZING MLB- they don't make em like Mike Singletary anymore. Lol. I hope y'all enjoy him. He also has a GREAT sense of humor. He should do well here.

Singletary was a great player, but that won't make the Vikes LBs any better - it's all about talent. He has one with Greenway, but the rest are pedestrian, at best. Vikes go 8-8 at best, Singletary won't make them into SB champs. And stop with "the eyes" - is there a more overused description of the guy. Singletary was a great LB in his day, a SB champ, and he was good cuz he got guys to the ground with the rest of the Bears - it has nothing to do with his eyes. Puh-leeze.

Zeke I must take you to task on the Viking LBs. Patrick Willis to this day SWEARS by the work ethic that then head coach Singletary drilled into him. I do NOT know where the Vikes are headed this year but can PROMISE that Mike WILL have the LBs ready to roll. I think you have more talent at LB than you think anyway and Mike will only improve that. Just sayin.

Would love to see the Viking D hit WR's this year. When was the last time a Viking LB, CB or S put any fear in a WR? Hopefully, Mike can light a fire under the whole defense even the NFL's worst secondary. Nice article.

I'm Samurai Mike I stop'em cold. Part of the defense, big and bold, I've been jammin' for quite a while, Doin' what's right and settin' the style, Give me a chance, I'll rock you good, Nobody messin' in my neighborhood. I didn't come here lookin' for trouble, I just came to do The Super Bowl Shuffle
