I'm a huge supporter of Webb and believe in the young man. He has the physical tools but needs to get through his progressions/reads faster in order to find the open receiver. It's a catch-22 situation for him. He saw the brutal beating #4 took last year and realizes the O-line is only slightly better thanks to addition by subtraction #74. He doesn't have faith in the line to make it past the first read, so he scrambles or runs if the #1 read is covered (missed Iglesias for an easy TD). the air. Without a deep threat, a poor WR core except for #12, a weak O-line, means 9 in the box and a brutal beat down. What are the odds McNabb makes it past week 4? Sullivan will get abused again all year and there is no depth. Meanwhile the 12th pick is on the bench. Not drafting O-line was a huge mistake. Vikes finish 5-11, in last place. Also, if Adrian leaves via FA with no compensation, Spielman needs to get run out of town.

The owners went out and bought Jared Allen and paid for Favre and paid a 3rd rounder for a rental of Moss. I highly doubt they will be unwilling to pay to keep Peterson around who is a proven commodity and the largest driver of jersey sales in the state.

After the first preseason game it looks obviously like McNabb, Ponder and Webb in that order. I like it for the fact that if Tarvaris Jackson was still here he would be #4 on the depth chart this year.

So you're saying you didn't lock into him???? I'm guessing the defender that was reading your eyes would say it differently.

The Vikings should be looking to trade Peterson. Signing him to a big deal at this stage of his career wouldn't make much sense. His best days are behind him.

Not many people were more disappointed with Webb's performance, than I was. Huge fan. Ponder definitely outplayed him. His athleticism, and running capability alone, will not get him a starting QB job. I know none of our QB's have much time, with our OL. However Joe, has got to learn, not to stare down his primary receiver, be able to survey the field, and find a secondary or third receiver. Really hope our QB coach, or maybe McNabb, will spend some time with him and help him develop. Another thing, when he is scrambling for his life, and out of the pocket, it is OK to throw the ball out of bounds, if he sees there is no running room. Good luck next week Joe!

I'm a firm believer in Joe Webb. The Vikes are doing the right thing by working him at QB. Guys like Brady and Manning are proof you don't need natural athleticism to succeed in the League, but there's no question that as Joe learns the game, it all works in his favor. This is no T-Jack-like experiment. Every bit of playing time makes all of these guys better players. It's early in the pre-season, but I sure like where what I see developing at the QB position.

Maybe the Vikings should rotate QB's like they do linemen. That'd be fun to gameplan against!

Believe it or not we should have pepper t jack. He never was truly given a chance and I still believe he will turn many heads this year in Seattle. With Webb and Ponder it will take a year before their somewhat comfortable. I just hope McNabb shines for us this year and rushes a lot too!

i like joe webb. If he could work out a few of the snags the commenters all posted, BTW< I agree with everything said, Joe really could be a SENSATIONAL QB in this league! Keep working out the kinks, Joe, you're MY first string pick for the future of this team!
