Coach Leslie Frazier remains patient while symptoms of growing pains show up in errant passes and dropped balls.

I'm not that worried about errors in practice, especially when were only a week in... what I'm most excited for is how well these next few preseason games go. Going against an actual opponent could be demoralizing, but then again its better to get these growing pains out of the way now rather than during the regular season when everything counts.

Not sure what the Vikings saw in McNabb....all I hear on the radio from the Redskin group of football analysts' is that McNabb was horrible there much like we talk about TJ and the chances of his success in Seattle.

bredpathAug. 10, 11 7:35 AM

Is it really time to panic when they've been practicing for 1 week? If they look horrible a month into the regular season, then by all means, panic away.

WAKE UP VIKINGS AND GET SOME WIDE RECEIVERS. Can't they see it. That was what we were missing last year and we have done nothing other than Jenkins. We need deep threats . Berrian goes down with owees all the time and he drops tons of balls. It is to late now to pick up a great wide out now. We should have drafted a great one and waited on a qb since we have McNabb and Webb growing. All good teams have 3 great wide receivers. We have Harvin and he is more of a slot receiver. We will not have a good passing game with only short dinky passes. Our running game will thrive if we had a couple deep threats. Now they can single cover and stack the box. We have to sign Peterson or lose him also. If we are having a bad season do you think he is going to risk getting hurt before he rakes in the big bucks? The Vikings blew it by not getting any Wide Receivers.

It's way too early to panic. A month is still a good amount of time for the offense to get in sync. McNabb is a responsible professional who will do whatever needs to be done to be ready for the Chargers Sept. 11. The high school practices he organized before he could officially be on the field was an encoraging sign. The left tackle issue is a big concern, but you could do a lot worse than moving Loadholt there. He won't be as good as a motivated, in-shape McKinnie but he won't embarrass us either; he'll be solid. Where I'm really optimistic is the change I think we'll see on defense. If I had one gripe with Frazier, it's that he sometimes seemed a bit too conservative & predictable with his defensive schemes. Fred Pagac seems like he's way more aggressive and apt to blitz more when the front 4 aren't getting it done...we need turnovers and big plays on D and this will do it...I thought his game plan against the Eagles & Vick was just amazing...hopefully we get 16 games of that this year...Vikes will be OK

FIRE RICK SPEILMAN. I used to think Brad Childress was responsible for the poor personnel decisions...not to address the offensive line while watching Favre get killed. Bringing in terrible wide receivers like Berrian, Smith and Baskett who did nothing but cost the team money. Now we know the truth. Rick Speilman is up to the same tricks he pulled that got him fired in Miami. The Vikings finished last. So this year I would have expected roster upgrades. We are actually WORSE OFF personnel wise. We have several players who were 2nd on last years depth chart that are replacing starters that were let go. And again, we finished LAST. FIRE RICK SPEILMAN!!!!

hockeyfoxAug. 10, 1110:55 AM

We can say the Vikes will be OK, but that is relative. Are you okay with last place? Does OK mean winning the SuperBowl? On paper, our GM has made this team worse. I will take Favre or McNabb. I will take Rice over Jenkins. There is a reason Leber and Williams started over their replacements last year. By all accounts Ponder is less than impressive and Toby Gerhart will never be a number one back even though he should be based on where he was drafted. Speilman has completely ruined this team through inaction and draft choices. It is no surprise to this fan we finished last a year ago. It is no surprise he did nothing to IMPROVE the talent on this team. The longer Rick Speilman is allowed to walk the halls of Winter Park, the less hope I have for this team.

A Green Bay Packer fan, a Minnesota Vikings fan and a Chicago Bears fan are climbing a mountain & arguing about who loves their team the most. The Bears fan insists that he is the most loyal. ''This is for Chicago!'' he yells & jumps off the mountain. Not to be outdone the Packers fan is next to profess his love for his team. He proclaims his love for the Packers & pushes the Vikings fan off the mountain. Now that's a happy ending ;-)

Every team will look UGLY the first few weeks. The lock out did not help. Super Bowl or playoff teams are not made in August. Relax.

yathinksoAug. 10, 1111:38 AM

Not to just on the Fire Spielman bandwagon, but after reading the preseason rankings, I would say Rick gets a big fat "F" in making any decisions. -29th CBS Sports -30th ESPN -25th FantasyFootballToolbox - 22nd Well, seems the consensus is that our GM did not do his job and the Vikings are yet again headed for last place. Okay....FIRE RICK SPIELMAN!!!
