FOCUS!!! Maybe OWEbama should keep his focus on jobs and the economy. Without any jobs, we won't need any fuel standards because none of us will have the money to put fuel in our vehicles.

Interestingly enough, a barrel of oil is sitting around $80 and is plunging because demand may weaken.

And Obama winning Virginia in 2008 has what to do with higher fuel mileage vehicles...?

Re: "concrete mixers, semis, heavy-duty pickups and all trucks in between will, for the first time, have to trim fuel consumption and emissions of heat-trapping gases under new efficiency standards being announced Tuesday by President Barack Obama." - Thanks to Obama's economic policies, we won't have to worry about seeing these vehicles on the roads anymore anyway. Who needs these vehicles when your business is closed? For crying out loud, will someone tell this guy to lighten up on business! His energy policy is crippling the country.

Obama has all ready stuck a knife in the heart of the american economy now he wants to twist the knife so it hurts even more Seriously do you believe that those in the business of trucking really want to waste fuel and they are not doing all that they can to save on fuel without Obama mandates

Hey Mr President! Who will be able to afford these new trucks....when we are not working? He should do just the opposite, use more of our own energy...getting more people to work, and then sell to other countries once our prices of gas come down.....gather those proceeds and develop green tech alternatives for the future. Work first....then new laws. Better yet...no new laws...we have enough.

I'm no politician, and I'm certainly not a Nobel Peace Prize winner, but with the economy in serious trouble, job growth non existent, unemployment nearing 10% (we know it's higher) our credit rating degraded, home values decreasing, and a very shaky approval rating Obama may want to focus on issues that MATTER to Americans. What a disaster this administration has become.

This will help the job market!!! Businesses will now be FORCED to purchase more expensive vehicles starting in 2014 so they won't probably be hiring any new employees with the increase in vehicle costs. Thanks OWEbama!!! Hopefully the next President will repeal most of the set backs and roadblocks that this administration has installed.
