He took a turn at wide receiver in practice, but his coach says "we really want to see Joe as a quarterback."

Webb will make his mark at some point, either at QB, WR or some kind of hybrid player - he is too gifted of an athlete not to. Despite having really no idea how good this team will be I am still psyched that they will be on the field playing a game in 5 days and both Webb and Ponder will probably play a lot - can't wait to see them!

I agree. Webb has that X-factor, that play-making ability. It would be a tremendous shame if they do not use him in some capacity. Whatever role he plays, I want him on the field.

Get this guy on the field any way you can.

I still do not know why The vikings are not looking for more depth at running back.we have not had a good change of pace back since chester taylor left and it really showed. Come on trade for steve slaton or Mike Goodson both would be a nice upgrade over L Booker. like i said before ant down time with AP and our season is over

Ahh! thinking about wildcat. Hmmm I would still make him a third stringer just because he is so atheletic

The Wildcat is so greatly overused - the only pro team to have any real success was Miami, and that was with Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams in the backfield. There are plenty of ways they could use Webb and Harvin in non-standard roles, and with Chilly gone there's a much better chance of creativity being shown on the field.

Joe Webb is the future Qback 4 the Vikings. Mark my words this guy is special. I love his attitude and his willing to do whatever it takes for the team. The chant still resonates from gopher stadium .. Let's go Joe... Let's go Joe!! I believe.

Why waste this guy on the bench as a 3rd string QB. This guy should be given the ball as often as Adrian Peterson. Put him in Coach.

Joe Webb has something special, no doubt. He sees the field and knows how to move in traffic. But there's more to being an effective QB than that. Webb needs to learn deception, all the many ways to make your opponent go left when you're going to throw right. Favre was a master of it. Head fakes, eye fakes, shoulder fakes, pump fakes, the works. When Webb learns deception, then he'll have a chance to be a great QB. For now, he's just a great athlete that can throw a football.
