'The Twins explored deals involving Slowey before last Sunday's nonwaiver trade deadline but were unable to move him.' again we have bill smith & gardenhire to thank for that. don't get me wrong, i want to keep slowey. but those two did a number on slowey.........

Slowey has been a relevant option for anyone but the pig-headed garden ire.

Promote Swarzak and call up someone like Kyle Waldrop. Drew Butera has reaLLy cost us with some shoddy defensive play the past couple games vs the Whiter Sox. Bill Smith didn't try hard enough to trade Slowey. The Rockies wanted to trade Rafael Betancourt straight up for Slowey. But the Rockies tried to trade Chris Ianetta to the Bluer Jays, only to have that fall through as well. Smith should have tried to trade Slowey for Ianetta, but there's no indication he even tried. Butera can't hit and now he can't play good defense. Mauer has been at first base qujite a bit-fine, because he's not looked good behind the plate for some time. What's the plan Twins? I thought you gave Mauer the big money because he was the everyday catcher? What are you doing?

Trade Blackie to the Yankees. They need a starter, and probably are egotistic enough to think they can fix Blackie and make him a capable 4th option. Blackie sucks, but to his credit, he KNOWS he sucks. At least reward him for his honesty and send him to a contender.

I wonder if Mr. Smith will still say the Twins are "contenders" on Sunday?

There's a 12 year old kid down that block that is emerging as option for the Twins rotation.
