I am still confused as to why the roads are such an issue...every morning and evening, Monday thru Friday those roads carry way more cars than will show up on Sundays for a Vikes game...why the huge drama? Plus, half the improvements were already on the schedule to be done by the state...should those cost be transitioned to the stadium now? This is just more political BS. Every NFL stadium is financed with public bonds...its how it is. If we want to keep the Vikes, we have to do it. If not, can you say, Hello LA!

I see that the Star Tribune deleted all of the earlier comments made on this issue. Not surprising since the comments were almost exclusively negative regarding the public financing of a new stadium. I am sure it has nothing to do with any financial interest that the corporation that owns the Star has in a new stadium. Well, let me state my earlier position. Governor Dayton just helped cost the state millions in lost revenue by shutting down the government and only relenting when he got more spending with no way to cover it. Governor Dayton signed off on a 150-200 percent Payday Loan using tobacco settlement funds as collateral. Governor Dayton signed off on a plan that opens up another 2 billion dollar + shortfall in promised program payments that will have to be dealt with in the next biennium. Despite all this, Governor Dayton is doubling down on the loosing proposition dubbed "The People's Stadium". I says it again. Worst Governor AND worst Senator that Minnesota ever produced. Why am I not going after the GOP? Most of the GOP in the Senate and House are against this proposal. The fact that it serves a big business interest and is still rejected by them should give all of you pause as to why you support it. Neither side was right in the budget impasse but Dayton shows just how epic his bad judgement is and how deaf he is to voter sentiment on this issue.

Just once I'd like to see Dayton consider what the public wants in the way of taxpayer funding of any stadium - that is the billionaires and millionaires must pay for their own stadiums, not the taxpayer through a regressive sales tax or a lottery funded largely by the poor. Gov. Dayton just doesn't get it... it's sad that we have to trust the republicans to be sure of no tax increases.

Tax the rich, huh? Thanks for thinking of the little guy, guv. I can't wait to have my county taxes increased at a time when people are pinching pennies. THe state should be doing the same. If you were really thinking of struggling families like you say you do then this proposal would've been dead on arrival.

If Minneapolis is a cheaper location, then why are we spending more money to build a stadium way out in Arden Hills? It sounds like real estate corporate welfare - giving the Wilf's their acres to develop. Most teams move to the suburbs because the land is cheaper, apparently not in this horrible deal.

At a time when funding is cut for so many things including education, THIS is what's important???

Once it is built everyone will enjoy it. Right now everyone is just whining. Its just like Target Field. I wonder how many of those nonsupporters go to a twins a year. Lets get ready to watch this team for the next 50 years in a new stadium. Lets get ready to watch Frazier and Ponder be around for at least 16 years.
