A 250,000 dollar workout bonus? So, I take it if he would have been in shape he would have earned that? Wow. Must be nice to pass up that kind of money. What else does he have to do than work out. Loser.

Bryant McKinnie must have never heard of Kory Stringer. Too bad. Stringer was quite a guy. He used to sponsor a reading program at Bancroft Elementary school in South Mpls. He spent time with all the kids there. My son was pretty young when he died so he doesn't remember Stringer. He does remember Randy Moss, who took over the program after Stringer's death. Moss never got enough credit for that. But we never saw McKinnie. Of course, inner-city public schools don't offer much by way of the South Beach lifestyle. Sorry about your priorities, Mr. McKinnie. Welcome to Minnesota, Mr. Johnson.

Bryant McKinnie's release was 3 years too late. Unfortunately, he felt entitled and was routinely beaten in his protections. Sad, really.

Should have at least got a draft choice for him from somebody.

This is a Vikings victory! Our team just got younger, better, and it got rid of a diva cancer who can infect an entire locker room....... People who think we are going to be a worse team with McKinnie gone need to pop in the Bears tape from last Dec. Brett Favre's last play as an NFL QB was getting his head smashed to the cold frozen turf of the U of M stadium. All of that courtesy of Mr Mckinnie and his sub par play. His release is two years overdue......

McKinnie was trouble from day one, when he stayed out of training camp his rookie year, holding out for a better contract.

Coaches, fans & players agree it was time to part ways. Only Souhan had a different take that it would cost the team wins. Hope McKinnie gets his life together, it's sad to see this type of self-destruction.

I would have to imagine Bryant is feeling pretty stupid by now,and will probably feel worse as time goes by. My guess is at some point in his future, that "incidental" 250,000 dollar paycheck is going to look pretty big when you consider the percentage of NFL players filing for bankruptcy within a few years after they leave the game.

I think the key phrase in this article was("for all PARTIES involved, I just thought it was the right thing to do", Frazier said.)

In other news...I'm excited about Ponder. The kid sounds and looks like a guy that's going to be ready to start sooner than later. Maybe that pushed McNabb? Either way, having two strong QBs is a good thing. And def get Webb out into the slot or funky formations so he can be the athlete that he is and make some great catches, and maybe a few throws. Overall, I think the team seems so much more hungry and in sync than a year ago.
