It will take far more than this second rate O-lineman for the vikings to even get to 5-11 this season. "Double-chin" Donovan will not even be able to finish the season.

What I can't believe is that the Vikings waited till the last possible minute to get someone with left tackle experience. Is it supposed to be big news that McKinney is a half effort guy who gets out of shape? I don't know who else on the Vikings team could have been trusted with playing left tackle right now. It isn't common knowledge who the backup left tackle for the Vikings is. Who is it? It's just dumb luck that they got Johnson. The Colts were struggling with cap room and paying big bucks for Johnson after drafting Anthony Castonso but I don't think they wanted Johnson to leave at all.

There goes any hope for a Super Bowl ring Charlie.

So do we still have Emmanuel Arceneaux under contract? Haven't heard a word about him with all the WR speculation as of late....

I would still like the Vikings to explore if there are any O-lineman out there with any "tread on the tires". The line play last year was mediocre at best.

While I didnt care much for #74, this guy is hardly worth any hype. Indy wouldnt let someone "this good" get away from protecting their new 90 mill dollar QB.

It comes down to this, as souie mentioned...you cant have "any" out of shape, accidents waiting to happen on your teams...simple

This was a great move by our new coach. McKinnie was terrible the last couple of years, just ask Brett Favre how many times he got nailed from the blind side. If Johnson was a starter for the Colts he has to be an improvement over Mclazy. In addition, Frazier sends a strong message that he is in charge and you better show up in shape!

The Vikings seem to have committed to Charlie Johnson, but I hope they keep an eye on Jared Gaither. He’s big (6-9, 340), young (25) and was developing into a solid LT for the Ravens before he was hurt last year. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like he’s healthy yet, ‘cuz the Ravens didn’t re-sign him, and the Raiders, who employ one of his previous coaches at Baltimore, brought him in for a visit, but then signed someone else.
