Last time the USA tried a humanitarian relief effort the good people of Sommalia turned on us. Killed our soldiers, and dragged their bodies thru the city of Mogadishu. It's African nations turn, and responsibility, to feed and cloth their own. Welcome to the new reality.
Bare in mind it was evil militants who killed our soldiers trying to help these people. The vast majority are just trying to survive and it is frustrating to sit and watch these people starve when we in America are Fat , Dumb, and happy...... Our Nations leaders need to get with the other nations and find a solution to this. Take my tax dollars if you please, but figure it out!
Saving Somalis from themselves? U.S. has been there, done that. Didn't work out so well. Not this time.
Thats a shame.
... and how much is being spent per day bombing Libya?
"The group's refusal to accept aid from Western and "Christian" aid groups means millions could starve..." -- gee, where's the Muslim world? Why aren't they steping up to helping?
tobyg32, tell the families in the U.S. who are starving or living on ramen noodles that "we in America are Fat , Dumb, and happy." And then tell the families of the soldiers killed in our last Somali "mission trip" that it's the United State's job to "figure it out." Finally, tell all Americans who pay taxes that we should just spend OUR tax money on a country that will NEVER see democracy or peace. Then, let me now how that works out for you.
Chelty, your points are well taken, but was your last comment about Somalia, or Afghanistan?
i bet if they had blonde hair and ate a little piece of bread each sunday, this would be a different discussion
What a tragedy, caused by religion. Islamists who care more for keeping "christians" out, than for saving the lives of millions of people.
