Well that went as expected. Didnt know Pavano would wet the bed as bad as he did, but once again, another anemic performance from the hitters. (No disrespect to Verlander, but they did really have some pathetic at bats up there tonight.)

What's a word that means "worse than pathetic"?

So I guess everyone who said prior to the game, "we're comin, we're comin" might tone down their rhetoric? Face it, as indicated by the series with Cle and now 1 game in with Det, playing .500 ball against them doesnt help. In fact if they go so far as to lose 3 out 4 this wknd, they really do need to pack it in and clean house with some people.

Boy, sure glad we had Kubel play this afternoon against some AAA stiff rather than have his LH bat in the lineup tonight. But hey, no pressure or anything Billy and Gardy...keep running it "your way."

Before you get too down on the Twins, Verlander beat the Yankees in New York this year and has an ERA near 2. There's your Cy Young Award winner. Twins can take the next three.

C'mon everyone! It's all part of the Twins plan! - To play .500 ball that is. At home, no less. You know plenty of people will be ecstatic if the Twins 'manage' to split this series. But hey, remember now, it's all about the 'journey'. Just so long as they play competitive, we should all just be happy about that. How dare anyone suggest the Twins should actually win a series at home against good teams. That's just silly talk!

The Twins had virtually no chance to win tonight, unless Pavano had pitched a gem. Pavano has pitched pretty well lately , but it wasn't a good matchup tonight going against one of baseball's best aces. Now, they need to rebound and find a way to beat Scherzer, another tough pitcher, but not as good as Verlander. And, I hope Duensing does a better job keeping the Twins in the game. They must end the 10-game skid against the Tigers to really stay in this race.
