You're right - there are a lot of adventure races/mud runs coming our way lately. My friend is doing the GoRuck Challenge this weekend. Not exactly the same as these, but another crazy thing to do - they're meeting at 1am and running around with bricks in their backpacks. I'll see him off, but not ready to participate...yet!

I usta do all that sorta stuff, but under US government auspices. But the "entrance fee" was a little stiff, an enlistment, and the "eco-challenges" sometimes involved hostile fire, not merely jumping through fire. That's why I can barely watch these "survivor" type TV shows. I keep going,"if that situation was real, you'd be SO dead!"
