Keeping in-state talent is exactly what the doctor ordered for this program. Great to hear the positive impact that Coach Kill is having at an early juncture. GOOOOOOOOOOO GOPHERS !

Keep it up Kill. I absolutely love your straight up talk...you seem like a reasonable down to earth guy that will relate well to kids and their parents. Good Luck. I hope you do well for our Gophers.

This Nelson kid sounds perfect for our program. I wish him well and look forward to him wearing Maroon and Gold. Keep up the good work Coach Kill & Co. GO GO4S!

Hope springs eternal I guess. But I do have a good feeling about coach Kill.Having said that I have no illusions about the up-coming season. It could very well be brutal.Coach Kill will have to endure a couple of these tough seasons untill these new recriuts get a little seasoning.I believe he is on the right track, keep those Minnesota kids playing for their home state thats the key.

This article is what I like to read. I'm making plans to be at the opener in Los Angeles against USC. I admire people who take chances & aren't afraid to get their nose bloodied. GOPHERS & Coach Kill.

With the way Brewster (ugh I hate even typing his name) spoke, I wanted to give him 2 years only before we got rid of him. Kil on the other hand has my full support and can have as long as he needs.

Keeping the top in state players is important, but none the less we dont turnout very many bigten players a year in this state, so we have to get good players from places like Illinois, Ohio, Texas, Florida and other football hotbeds. I think Kill is on the right track, but anyone who thinks we can win with just Minnesotans is dillusional, if it can't be done in hockey it wont happen on the gridiron

"They told me that I was their No. 1 guy, that I was the future at quarterback," said Nelson." Then, later in the article: "They didn't guarantee anything, but they just seemed way more interested, more friendly and honest." Which one of those honest answers is the truth?

Chucktell, both statements are true. Nelson was told, in effect, that he has the talent and is projected to be their number one guy. If he works hard and follows their coaching the job is his. If he gets lazy or loses focus, he won't get a free ride.

Earn your way to play... Well said, Kill. Go with providence... Smiting might take a bit, but damn, they'll try. I believe in this man, with no chili hot invocations...
