The funds weren't there for a stadium, but look for a special session this fall.

Let's hope this Billionare owner skips town with all his millionaire players and low-income stadium jobs.

Greed is hideous, but nothing is more despicable than a non-resident Billionaire endlessly begging for more from the working class..I wish this guy would just go away.

And let's not forget, Morrie Lanning was collecting his paycheck during the state shutdown. What an awesome fiscally responsible lawmaker.

Sid, if you're going to blame anyone for not putting forth a bill for expanded gambling, blame the GOP leadership. They allowed bills to be introduced, but did little or no work keeping them alive. This is also the same GOP who felt it was necessary to spend three weeks debating a gay marriage amendment instead of actually fixing the budget. You also seem to forget a couple of other facts: Tim Pawlenty put us in this budget situation and kicked the can down the road addressing a new stadium for the Vikings. I might also add he was against funding for Target Field and insisted there was nothing wrong with the Metrodome. And though I would like the Vikings to get a new stadium, I am also having a hard time swallowing the fact that they waited until the end of the session to present their plan to the Legislature. Since it is a great idea, it needs to be discussed why it is so people can ponder. There are people in this state who can be swung in another direction of support when it comes to public funding of buildings.

mngold, if you feel that strongly about the Vikings, perhaps you wouldn't mind telling every major professional sports team in Minnesota to skip town.

Cags777 - O.K. Take the others too and I'll throw in Sid to sweeten the deal.

mngold - why do you read Sid and comment on his column if you don't like what he says??? No one is forcing you to read what you do not like. If you do not like football or major leagues then why don't you pony up and buy season tickets to the Gopher Gold. And you call yourself mngold.

Maybe they could get a stadium built on I-405 in L.A.

Cags777, although I agree with your opinion of mngold I completely disagree with your political position. From where I sit and see things its the democratic leadership and there endless desire to spend that not only put us in this situation but is also keeping us there. I do hope we are able to get a stadium built....and soon
