While Detroit might make trade-deadline splash, a return of Jon Rauch could boost Twins.

"Adding the likes of San Diego's Heath Bell would cause headaches for manager Ron Gardenhire". Capps could be released. So could Nathan if he doesn't like it. If there is a realistic chance of getting Bell and they don't do it, that means they don't want to win games. We can't go on like this any longer.

It's Luke Gregerson, not Seth. FYI.

Fire Billy Smith. The man who brought us Matt Capps and Nishioka, who traded away Bartlett, and Garza, who brought us ultimately Jim Hoey and a bag of rocks for Johann Santana, who stripped the bullpen which this year is THE worst in the major leagues, and the sorry list goes on and on. Can him at the end of the season.

Wait a minute. Rauch's unreliability was the reason the Twins felt they needed to trade their most valuable trade chip for Matt Capps last year. Now Capps', er, awfulness is a big reason they need to trade for Rauch? This makes no sense unless you employ circular logic to justify lower and lower expectations.

So we can trade our best prospects for Rauch and Fuentes. Two pitchers that we could have resigned for nothing if we showed any interest at all in them in the off season. Another failure of the Twins brain trust. They were so sure that they could let them and Crain and Guerrier go and not miss a beat with their new bullpen additions. We all new it was stupid to do this. Why didn't they?

I think the Twins have already hung their Capps on NOT winning the division this season.

That's a terrific point Boneyard. I would offer to nominate you for Post of the Day, but every time I try to, in any way, shape, or form, mention or refer to a Post of the Day, my comment gets deleted. I ascertain that ONLY insults are allowed in the posting rule book, while compliments are prohibited. Therefore I am NOT suggesting that your comment was worthy of any Post of the Day awards - should those awards actually exist.

Too bad Gardy can''t work with clubhouse guys who are not top of the line. Maybe all those stinking loses in postseason would have turned into wins if we had a little life instead of nice in the clubhouse. Get used to it - Gardy will never gets this team out of the first round of the playoffs because the big name guys who would help this team have egos's and Gardy can't deal with that. So we keep out clubhouse full of nice Casper Milk Toasts and keep being the doormat for the East Division teams.

Look at Capps, now look at Rauch. Which would you rather have staring down the opponents in the 9th? Exactly.
