Are you kidding, if scouts were here tonight looking at the same pathetic Cuddyer at bats that I saw, they wouldnt find a taker in the first place.

And I hope that is just a smoke and mirrors comment by the "twins official." They would be absolutely FOOLISH to sign a 32 yr old, with regressing offense and defense, to a multi-yr contract. IF they fall out of contention, and they dont trade Cuddyer, I can only assume our front office is run by incompetent monkeys.

If the team can get a desirable return on what would be a rental player for the balance of the season, why not? This isn't Torii Hunter here where the guy is the foremost face of the franchise and you let him walk as a free agent once the season is over. Cuddyer is drawing attention so at least hear out some offers. It's not like the Twins have a shortage of outfielders.

I love him and his versatility, but if this team is not within three games on the 31st they would be nuts not to trade him. Our farm system has become thin from our decade of winning, we need to trade him, get a prospect, and cross our fingers that he wants to sign for a discount price.

They will not trade him and they will sign him. He causes no problems for management, he is a Gardy guy and the local media love him. Nobody gets more of a pass for his on the field failings than he does. He will be a Twin next year.

Oops... looks like a typo in the headline. Should read "Team says Cuddyer CAN'T be dealt this season.". How often do you see a team intentionally walk someone twice to get to your all-star cleanup hitter? That was sad. Hope he'd ready for a pay-cut.

I'd trade him in a heart beat. He is a "contract year guy". Look at his stats the year his contract was up last time...then we over paid him and he ensues to be a marginal player. It is happening again. Let him go in the off season if we don't trade him now. He will go down as another Jaque Jones, Brian Buchanen, Doug mientkavicz....all decent with the Twins, but no life after.....Cuddy is that guy.

Njc264isback, Our front office IS run by incompetent monkeys - mainly Bill Smith. The problem with trading Cuddyer is I don’t trust Smith to get anything of value in return.

I'd leave it up to Cuddy. He's earned the right to stay, or to be traded to a real team with a real shot at a ring.

Hey, year in and year out the guy has been a gamer for this team. Twins mgmt. doing the right thing here. Cuddy does need to give us a discount however next season for keeping him around.
