"but we're the ones who didn't get our work done and caused the problem" How about we retroactively take your pay from today back until the current session started?
Good for Ryan Winkler. Too bad the State Senator who represents his district, Ron Latz, doesn't have the same integrity. Just goes to show that not all Democrats are the same. Would love to hear Harvard-educated lawyer Ron Latz explain why he needs the money more than Winkler.
The real question is not whether they took pay, will take pay, or turned it down. The real question is are Minnesotan's intelligent enough to vote all of these knuckleheads out.
We as voters better start asking some tougher questions up front, or finding out more about our candidates, instead of closing our eyes and voting, which unfortunatley is how it seems some of these folks got in their
So right wingers, who caused the shutdown, have been claiming that union members will get back pay when the shutdown is over (we won't)and now we find out that THEY will!? I'd say it's priceless hypocrisy, but I'm to busy vomiting.....
Too bad that because they couldn't get their act together and do their job they can still get paid but the people they put out of work won't get paid retroactively or otherwise. Most people who don't do their jobs lose them...they don't get rewarded for it.
Legislators getting back pay for not doing their job is the same as CEOs who have been let go for poor performance, but still get a huge severance package anyway. I'm to the point that I am in favor of selling the whole darn state to the Canadians.
Most of the legislators are saying "Just give me a paycheck for not doing my job, and just shut the F up. Vote for me again during election time."
Talk about entitlement programs
