Zellers and Koch: If you don't want to raise taxes, then expand gambling and open liquor stores on Sundays. You dropped the ball by wasting three weeks debating the gay marriage amendment; don't waste taxpayer dollars not paying the bills or finding other sources of revenue. Tim Pawlenty already tried delaying the payments. Look where that left us.

Dayton it is easy. Just agree with the Republicans to cut K-12, layoff 15% of the state workers, cut money to non-research U of M and close 50% of the MnSCU campuses! Oh and NO Viking stadium!

As long as the class warfare card is played, these talks will be fruitless. I feel sorry for the residents of MN with the level of divisiveness that exists in the state. In Missouri we have a flat tax of 6% for all taxpayers. There is no divisive rhetoric about taxes and we have balanced the budget with our Democrat Governor, Jay Nixon, taking the lead on cutting expenditures - even in the face of natural disasters (flooding and Joplin being wiped off the map by tornados). We have had no discussion of increasing taxes because the politicians are accountable to all the state residents since everyone has skin in the game.

Our camping trip on Thursday to a State Park is in jeapordy. We planned this one year ago while we were in that park. We made the reservation on line and paid for 12 months ago. Looks like it won't happen.

Am I angry and bitter? Nope. This is a small price to pay as I watch the GOP grow up and start playing major league politics. The DFL has dominated and decimated this State and it is long over due that the liberals in this state learn that class warfare, greed and envy are unacceptable.

Extend sales tax to include food and clothing. Stable revenue source. No increased income tax rates. Problem solved.

so the strib reports "dayton has been repeatedly rejected" how about reporting it as "everything the state congress has passed and all new proposals since their session has ended has been rejected" see how the situation sounds completely different.

Really Zellers & Koch, who would have thunk that more revenue shifts and borrowing would not be acceptable?? Get a clue, we have borrowed our way into this mess, it is now time to re-pay that debt. Lets git "R" dun !!!
