A sniper's fresh start

Dany Heatley, odd as it might sound, is a natural goal scorer out to prove he can still score in bunches for his newest employer, the Wild.

Pretty good move by Fletch. Heatley should make a positive impact right from the start. I also like the youth movement Fletch has started here...as well as mixing in some guys who have some experience AND goal scoring prowess. Wild are definitely moving in the right direction now...finally!

Where are all of the Fletcher naysayers now? Yeah, no where to be found like one would think...

I live in Las Vegas but with the last two trades I may have to go and see the Wild play when they get to LA or Phoenix.

Its kind of interesting to see how people outside the SJMN-Connection have taken these trades. They always seem to lean to SJ a bit because of the Cup contender status, but also like what MN is doing. Something like our team was full of passers and our best scorer in Latendresse was injured all season. So, we brought in a young, fast, talented player with a high ceiling in Setoguchi and brought in an elite goal scorer in Heatley. Now, we have a nice balance of passers in Bouchard and Koivu and three goal scorers in Seto, Heatley, Latendresse, and we may even get Clutterbuck to put up more than 15 again. Seems to me if Koivu can put up 15-20 goals, Seto 20-25, Latendresse 20-25, Heatley 30-40 our team is in better shape than it once was. A LOT better shape. We just might be able to watch some playoff hockey this year and have our team in the mix of things. Our only suspect thing in reality is our defense, and I trust Yeo will have a great plan for those guys.

People may be stoles about this trade, but will fans be patient enough if Heatley struggles out the gate. Last thing he needs is to hear the boos of the fans. Especially the passionate Minny fans. Big fan of this trade but I hope the fans are patient or Heatley will implode.

Is everyone still dumping those season tickets? I think this would be a good time to hang on to them if you haven't already dumped them....
