What is the big deal about keeping Mauer in the line up other than for the kids on a Sunday afternoon, and he never plays on Sundays anyway? Trying to keep his bat in the line up is kind of ridiculous, as that bat hasn't been too busy since he came back unless you count pounding balls into the ground.

A better starting point would be for Joe Mauer to "cowboy up" and act more like a man than a pampered, lazy millionaire. I haven't heard any apologies for his inept play. Nor have I heard him offer to give back any of the $23M he's taken form the Pohlads'-and US! These contracts are guaranteed, and the insurance claim is paid by US! I don't know, maybe Mauer is pressing because he stinks every night. But he needs to grow up and realize he's expected to hit and perform at a much higher level than Drew Butera. That's not meant as a slam against Butera. At least Drew gives his all every time he plays.

When will I be coming back to the office, 2-3 days, or weeks or month. Honey I can't take the trash out my Maueritis is acting up.

Keep his bat in the lineup? What bat? Right now Mauer needs to go down to AAA and work on his mechanics, not in the majors while hurting this team even more. On another note, can we see a guy like Aaron Bates from Rochester who is playing well at first and with only 1 error?

I understand the previous posts here, and you have great, valid opinions. I think it would be a good idea to play him at a different position to try to keep him playing. He has been a great hitter in the past, three batting titles in the past are hard to argue with; but he does seem to be hurt constantly. Well, actually he is hurt nearly constantly. I think trying something different could benefit not only him; but the team, and the fans. I think we all need more out of him for the paycheck he gets that the rest of us can only imagine. The path they are currently taking with him seems to lead to the DL over and over. I think it is time to try something else.
