Wait a second I thought the Twins wanted to perserve their arms because we didn't want shortened career by over using them...I guess we should put an exception to that rule when the manager cant trust a single pitcher in the bullpen.

As long as they're doing well, Gardy should ALWAYS let the starters pitch deep into games.

too bad it took a two month long brick wall to fall on garden ire and knock some sense into him.

It only took the worst bullpen in MLB history for Gardenhire to realize that the modern day athlete is, in fact, quite capable of pitching 8 or even 9 (OMG!) innings. At least he's learning.

Gosh, Mauer has played 2 games now -- must be time for a rest. Will be interesting to see if he is up to being the DH on Sunday. What an iron horse.

you've got to be kidding: valencia hurt his bicep on throw in 8th inning- is it possible to have every single position player on a 25-man roster spend time on the DL in one year?

Iron Horse will DH on Sunday, although will be replaced by pinch-runner if a single has eyes and gets through
