I'd rather have a yard with real plants - a gorgeous tapestry of life and color, a sanctuary from the concrete jungle - than the almost clinical feel of association neighborhoods with their landscaping jokes. And someone telling me what I can't do to a house I'm paying several hundreds of dollars to hopefully one day own--no way! I guess even some grown adults like the responsibility dodge of living under their "parent's" rules. Me, it brings to mind the song Little Boxes by Malvina Reynolds. (shudder) "...And they're all made out of ticky tacky; And they all look just the same..."
