"This surprises you"? Since the TVA we have people living in a bowl, on the coast with hurricanes etc with no insurance because of the good Republican freedom, and we pour money hand over fist, but hit us where we have support, due to taxes etc. and you can not get any. Keep voting for these idiots and you can also get help recuse you believed this crap. We have supported the southern states for decades and now guess what. They will continue to get it and for us. Screw you.

Maybe FEMA didn't hear that Pawlenty was no longer governor, and assumed he would just reject the federal government money anyway to show what a true, hard-core conservative he is and what a great Republican presidential nominee he would make. Kind of the same way he made every other decision since deciding to run for governor 10 years ago.

FEMA made the right choice. Rybak will milk as much out of the federal government as he can for his democrat voters of the 5th. district.

I understand helping with cleanup and the immediate need for shelter and food after the tornado but this point people should be working with their insurance companies. No insurance? That's not the governments problem. If you are a renter and your place isn't getting fixed MOVE. My god nobody is forcing you to stay in N Mpls.
