They have whittled the Central gap from last place and expect key stars back soon, making the new mindset, "Hey, we can do this.''

Gardy once again looks like a genius.

Newsflash Gardenhire: You're playing "fast" baseball with non regulars. You think once we get the slow, plodders back we're going to keep stealing and hit and running? My only question is, why will you only do it with the AAA players, and not your lineup stalwarts? Manage will ya?!!!

Why is it so hard for people to understand that they play 162 games in MLB? Oh. That's right. Everyone in Minnesota follows the Vikings, which means everyone thinks that five straight loses means the season is over.

think it's almost time to no longer worry about how far the indians are ahead of the team. keep an eye on the tigers and possibly the sox. also don't need to worry about wild card as playoff hopes rest on the central being weak once again.

Gardy keeps talking about all the running he is going to do and I guess he thinks he is doing it now. I know that this is why we dumped hardy and O-Dog also, but I just don't see all this running we are supposed to have. Today I saw a couple hit and runs put on but that is not running all over the place is it?

SLOW DOWN...We are still 13 games below .500 baseball. Seriously it has been a great two weeks but the Twins will have to SWEEP the Sox and win the Padres series to get back to single digits below a .500 record. Then we can all start checking how long it will take to catch the Tigers. Who by the way the Twins haven't beaten in like 10 games.

It's nice to see them winning, but I'd have waited a little bit to write this. Love your stuff, Jim, but let's see what it looks like at the break. I'm not convinced this team is "Major League 4" script material yet.

Great article Souhan. See if we can't get to .500 by the break and you never know what August and September will bring. Go Twins!

"That's my biggest concern. When we get our boppers back, I want to keep that edge, of putting pressure on them and not just waiting for three-run homers... I like to be able to put things on, steal, and run." --- I hope Gardenhire's words foreshadow a few of these faster/spitfire AAA players staying up, even after the regulars return from the DL, with a few so-called "boppers" being traded before the deadline to plug a few holes that ultimately should have been filled "during the winter". Even if the Twins don't make the playoffs, a few of these rookies are full of energy and a breath of fresh air.
