I am not excited about MacTavish. On an interim basis, okay. But search for a coach with more potential please. We don't need stability, we need someone who can take our team to the next level.

MacT makes perfect sense for the Wild. Taking over a team full of defense first plugs, he'll be able to get them to commit to a system that works to their advantages, while instituting a tougher approach that sees teammates standing up for each other, all the while holding the team accountable. Things that were SERIOUSLY lacking under Todd Richards. MacT gets my nod over Ken Hitchcock, that's for damn sure... he's the last person we need in Minnesota, not to mention a style that will allow tougher teams in the division (like Colorado, Calgary and Edmonton) to run all over us more so than they did with Richards manning the bench.

Mactavish has personality, confidence, former player and an experienced head coach with a track record of some winning teams in Edmonton. He is not the most honest coach as I would think his favorite players on the Wild roster will be SAW and Clutterbuckett. His teams personality was a complete apposite of Lemaire's teams so don't look for him to have an enforcer in the line-up as he would rather have his team agitate and tease. With that type of personality comes hits the league is trying to get rid of and undisciplined play.

Wild could get a Hector 'Toe' Blake (Habs Dynasty) level coach if he existed or a Scotty Bowman. But they won't do anything unless 'Ivy Leaguer Fletcher' can find away around the cap, find some major league level skaters and get them on the ice. I understand the club was painted into a corner with inappropriate contracts, cap issues and little in the farm system. But you take on a higher level thinker like Fletcher to initiate solutions to business problems such as these. So far, Fletcher appears to not have been able to initiate solutions on any front to solve the puzzle which he pursued to take over. I hope this season he moves from figurehead to actualizer. I look for another season of being entertained by opposition clubs. Great to hire and fire a coach- give the coach something to work with not just other lower level clubs cast offs.

"Mac T" is the wrong choice; his bruising, Lemaire-disciple style is out of date in today's NHL, where bruisers are soon to be outlawed and where winning teams race three guys into the offensive zone wave after wave. This guy is just wrong, and that's why he doesn't have a job. If Fletcher hires him, Fletcher himself will be gone in less than two years. Yeo is the guy. He's paid his dues, he plays the right game, and it's his time. Other than one Stanley Cup Finals run, "Mac T" is a career loser.

While I agree MacTavish isn't the ideal chioce, he is the best choice of veteran coaches available. And after Richards, I'm ready for a veteran. Yeo's not ready for the big chair yet.

Today's NHL Bobo ? That is like calling Bettman Bill Gates or looking at the latest headline that says the GM's want broader penalties for head-shots again. If your team's fans pine for a forward that can enforce, copyright Boogaards popularity in the state, why can't we or what is the consequences for doing that ? Are you saying Bobo that we can't have an enforcer because the league will treat us differently if we behave unlike the other members of the club called the NHL ? The other members of the club called the NHL currently have their game being played with more concussions compared to having enforcers take care of the business....... Remember the hit on Clutterbicket by Gillies ? he is good at avoiding hits and Clutter likes to tease so Gillies wanted to level him and the only way to do that is illegal and caused Clutterbucket to miss a few games with a headache...... If the league is being run by the GM's of the NHL and the good old boys, just look at the amount of times its been written that they support broader penalties for head shots to see how preposterous that is....... The Devils and Canadians are honest successful team and were models similar to what the Wild were before the ownership change. Can Minnesota hockey fans live without a Boogy type in the line-up and still have the fans interest enough to sell out games ? Allot of hockey is played in these parts so what makes the NHL game that much different then all of the other hockey that we watch . is it enough to make anybody want to invest
