Pawn America is a great place to shop, occasionally offering great bargains if their back room computer hawks make a mistake. Most times, however, their marked prices are little better than Wal-Mart with no corresponding guarantee. Also, it is inaccurate to call them a "pawn shop". They are a second hand retail center. A true pawn shop will haggle and consider counter offers. Don't try this at Pawn America.

The stolen goods database does exist! I had a new bike stolen from my garage and got a call from the MPD a month later that it showed up at a pawn shop. The "seller" only wanted 50 bucks for a 600 dollar bike. Too bad I couldn't press charges since they had no proof the "seller" actually stole the bike. I'm just glad I got my bike back.

I find all pawn shops to overprice items and most are usually not in good condition.

I love how the pawn shop owner acts like he is reinventing the wheel! If most people have never heard of your pawn shop before then how have you successfully built up your brand?

It is hard to overlook that the title of this article is edited to say "slow" times, instead of "bad" times -- the difference being that the Redstar carefully spins the news. They want Obama re-elected. All the while 1/2 of Congress is trying to usher the self-obsorbed Weiner off-stage, and the President ditches his family's weekend plans for another round of golf. His clubs likely didn't come from Pawn America though. You are now informed...

She buys her TVs from Pawn America? We went there and looked at a 50" TV with a missing remote. We decided to go down the block to Best Buy and found a TV with the same specs brand new for the same price. Pawn America is not the place to buy electronics!
