So the people who take out our garbage and wade in our sewage to fix it and risk their lives doing other work for us would be let go with nothing if they didn't have a contract? Who says Unions aren't needed anymore?

Thank you Dayton. You are no friend to the people of the State of Minnesota. I hope your game makes you feel good.

Bring on the anti-state employee comments. Before people talk about how bloated state government is, just remember, that Minnesota ranks 50th in state employees per capita.

Why do we have to pay laid off workers their vacation pay??? Years ago I was laid off from a manufacturer and was never paid my vacation once. They laid us off because business was slow and brought us back when it picked back up. No wonder the state is in the red. Union State Workers are robbing the middle income private sectors workers with all these benefits they get.

That is great! Pay them their unused sick time and all that crap, make them reapply, only hire the good ones with dramatically reduced benefits. Sounds like a wondeful solution to a problem.

This is a golden opportunity to eliminate union workers so that they can no longer hold the state of Minnesota hostage. Go for it!!!

No problem... Le's just shut the state down for a full year to recoup this bogus payout... and then only hire half of them back.... Problem Solved !!!!

Told ya! I predicted this. The government is owned by unions and protects their flock. Not one public employee will lose a dime of pay, but they will enjoy a nice taxpayer paid vacation.
