For the time being, the Vikings' new coordinator can only envision what his scheme will eventually look like.

I love this football chatter, it's getting me pumped up! We want football and we need to get this haggling over 9 billion dollars agreed upon. C'mon people, your all going to be rich so be happy and start agreeing on some issues so we don't delay this thing! It's going to be an outstanding 2011 season if we can get it started! SKOL

I can just imagine the comments in the coaches and staff meetings when they are going over and studying the film from the past 4-5 years. "Look at that there...this is what "__________" (insert player name ie Percy, AP, Shank, Squid) can exploit and his strengths! And this is what doesn't work...What the heck was Childo thinking? Why didn't he keep exploiting instead of going back to what doesn't work? What a Jackwagon!!", "And another thing...we will be holding a special class every week, once this stupid lockout is over, on how to count & tell the difference between 11 and 12 players on the field! That goes for all coaches, staff & players! Bienemy and Tahi especially...Psych! They won't be back LOLOL"

Everytime I hear about the new offensive line coach I smile. We had some serious bulk on that line but the results were poor. Even with Hutch, things were not good. I know a lot of it came down from Chilli, but look at what Mike Tice has done in Chicago. We need a good person in that position. Let's hope we have one now. Nothing good happens if the line fails to perform.

What the Vikes should go back to is using A.P. lots and lots and lots. Unless something goes wrong you are going to have either a very raw rookie or a very raw 2nd year man as QB. Run first and let them work their way into the offense and just how fas the Pro D's are. I know that today passing teams seem to win, especially the Super Bowl, but the Vikes aren't going to be playing for a trip to the Super Bowl this year. They will be playing to get their QB of the future ready for the next run at the playoffs and maybe a Super Bowl in a few years.

from article: There will be significant differences from the very generic version that former coach Brad Childress ran. - Exactly what Vikes fans are praying for.

Cobrawayne, I didn't know if you were applauding Tice's work in Chicago. But that line was close to a disaster last season. Cutler almost got killed, despite his mobility. I agree on the needed change in OL coaches here though. And let's see what his new scheme will do. Man-blocking instead of zone.

I think we may only win 5 games next year. The team is poor and won't have the time needed for the young players to get it together. That said, i am still happy not to have to look at Chilly on the sideline and read his inane comments in the paper.

Jeff Davidson has had success with the zone blocking scheme on the offensive line. It will be interesting to see what he does with the Vikings line. For the most part I think the players are there. I'd like to see Brandon Fusco or someone more physical at center and get the entire line to be hitting people instead of playing on their heels. That's what we have seen from the zone blocking scheme. We've seen big linemen be nonaggressive while trying to read and react. Our power running game even looks bad. That's inexcusable when you have that much bulk on the line and the backs to make that work.

There is a lot of excitement to be had with someone like Musgrave and offensive players like ours. It sure does feel like robbery that these talented guys can't start practicing now... if the season kicks off on schedule and the Vikes make the playoffs without any proper prep time, imagine the swan song our nay-sayers would be grumbling then!
