Oh, no. A contractor with an expired license! The horror! As soon as that license is no longer valid, that contractor is completely unable to perform any kind of work reliably. What did folks ever do before licensing?

I love that the city's "civil rights" department created three lists of contractors featuring small, women- and minority-owned businesses. There was no regard given to whether they were any good, or even that they were legitimate. Another example of blind, and stupid, political correctness.

My math discovers that 22 of 34 is actually a lot more than "half" the number that didn't meet the requirements... It's really frustrating that our tax dollars are paying the salaries of incompetent people.

Yet another fine example of complete incompetence, bureaucracy, and insane political correctness on the part of the city of Minneapolis.

I think it would be helpful to point out more things that do and do NOT require a license?

They were in emergency mode. Lesson learned. They also had disclaimers that told peole to do their homework. It is not hard to verify that a contractor is licensed.

And for a slight donation to the DFL party of Minneapolis you can have your name added to this list and the state, mind you, not the city will pay if these individuals fail to preform. Wonder why the city of Minneapolis is broke????? Wonder why your taxes have gone up without any improvement in services????? Maybe start with paying your own garbage bills and you might become a little more accountable for other peoples money that you so freely spend.
