If they would have let the voters decide Target Field would never have been built. Now a large majority of people are happy that it was built.

It doesn't matter what the commission does. The charter can require a referendum vote if a petition gets enough signatures. And that is pretty much a foregone conclusion. This is all just posturing.

What a deal Target field turn out to be, as long as your name is Joe Mauer. Now you get paid 23 million to lay around in Florida.

The Ramsey Count Board "makes annual taxing and spending decisions greater than 23 million dollars." But hey all do NOT require an additional half percent sales tax. The Vikings are a business. We are in the greatest recession since the "Great Depression." We can not just throw money around.

Why don't we let the voters decide on the state budget standoff too! Why should our elected officials ever have to do their jobs on difficult issues?

Let's lend the money to the Vikings instead of donating it. They are going to make a killing not only on the franchise, but on developing the land around the stadium.

It's your jobs as representatives to either vote for or against it, just vote and get it over with! Do your jobs and quit trying to push it off on the people when you think its going to be unpopular.

Why are people like Lester Bagley and Ted Mondale acting like this is no big deal? The vast majority of the people affected by this do not want it to pass. They already admitted they will circumvent the referrendum. And now it sounds like they are trying to structure the bill so that the County Board doesn't even have to vote on it? And they also are trying to exempt this from met council review? Who exactly are people like Morrie Lanning and Julie Rosen looking out for? Why are they so concerned with cutting the people out of this? All to further enrich Ziggy Wilf?

The State hasn't even laid out how it will raise its $300,000,000.00 portion of this corporate welfare project. Note to Julie Rosen - a tax on satelite TV is not a user fee. A tax on a MN Wild shirt is not a user fee. The State had better retain the $ for naming rights. There had better be a large income tax on NFL players. There had better be a large ticket tax on Vikings games. There better be an enormous tax on luxery suites. Why haven't they released these details?
